2008 Ball race takes place on the River Roeburn in Wray, Lancaster on Sunday 4th May 2pm.
BALLS AWAY! at 2pm sharp(ish).

PRIZES: FIRST: £100 • SECOND £50.00 • THIRD £25.00

Start Line is the 'Kitten Bridge' Foootbridge
Finish line is by the Bridge, next to Bridge House Tea Rooms.

How do I purchase an entry?
You can buy tickets for the race at various locations throughout the Village, particularly during 'Scarecrow Festival Week' starting Saturday 26th April 2008.
All tickets are numbered, and this number will match the number on your ball. KEEP YOUR TICKET - this is your proof of entry needed should YOUR ball be one of the first three to finish!

Results will be announced at the end of racing on the day, and also available soon afterwards on this page along with the race report & photos etc.

I WON! - How do I collect my PRIZE MONEY??
If your ball(s) win on the day and you are present at the event, then you can collect your prize in person ON PRESENTATION OF YOUR PROOF OF ENTRY TICKET as above.

Winners will be notified by 1. PHONE to the telephone number given when you made a personal purchase. 2. EMAIL (to your registered PayPal account e-mail address used when purchasing entries) where the entry has been purchased online.

Lots of small print to keep you entertained:
1. You dont actually get to KEEP any balls, you are buying and entry into the ball race, all balls are numbered, if the number on the winning balls matches the number on your entry ticket proof, then you win the prize.

2. Flood, Drought, Disaster etc. In the unlikely even that the race meeting has to be postponed due to natural disaster, unforseen circumstances etc. then a NEW date will be set for the balls to be set free. NO refunds, cancellations etc. will be made - proceeds from the Ball Race are part of the fundraising for the Annual Scarecrow Fair.
